Old Blue Hair People

I'm amazed at the "old blue hair people that like babies" that come up and put their germy, dirty hands all over RC. I'm talking about people you don't even know. The ones that come up to in the store and start drooling all over the car seat, grab his hands, touch his feet, touch his cute little cheeks etc. (you get the picture). Why do these people think this is acceptable? It's the same thing when your pregnant, someone thinks it's acceptable to just reach out and touch your belly. Well, I'm here to tell you it's not okay. Why does this completely freak me out?

Randy and I were at my favorite store, Target eating a slice of pie and popcorn in the concession area when a load of old folks got off the bus and headed our direction. RC was snoozing quite nice when these two little old ladies walked over and started oohing and aahing over our little boy. Now don't get me wrong, it was flattering that they thought he was the prettiest boy in town. Still I was a little concerned. My mind starting racing wondering are these old folks healthy? are they sick? are their hands clean? Randy must have had the same thought. He said, "Are you ready to go?" I quickly said "Yes". Mom grabbed the wipes and cleaned RC up. Later on, RC couldn't stop sucking his thumb.

Moral of the story, don't touch a baby or a belly without asking, especially if you don't even know the person. Wash your hands. Germs are lurking everywhere. Yes, I'm sure I sound like a freak and I'm fine with that. Perhaps that's why I rarely get sick. I LOVE hand sanitizer.
