Our Happy Boy

Today RC is 10 weeks old. He seems to already be developing his little personality. Lately, he is very content and calm. We have somewhat of a routine down that I feel is relaxing him much more.

First, he gets up every morning at 5:30 am. He eats, burps and Mom swaddles him back to bed. He wakes up at 9:00 ish and we play in his room for awhile. He loves listening to his Baby Einsteins morning music while Mom talks about the plans for the day and gets him dressed. He talks back and smiles sweetly.

Then we do our second morning feeding and it's off to playtime. RC LOVES his play mat. It's very colorful with lots of toys hanging down for him to try and grab or move. He's still working on the grabbing. The play mat has a little star that blinks and music that plays. He kicks and flails around cooing and talking aloud. We may run errands or shop and he loves places with lots of sound and bright lights. Depending on the weather, Mom takes him on a stroll in the beautiful sunshine. We switch it up from time to time and either swing for awhile, bounce or have tummy time. Gotta keep RC's attention and keep him entertained.

Our next feeding is generally around 2pm and then it's nap time. RC has been napping for 3-4 hours in the afternoon. This gives Mom time to really get a few things done around the house. About the time RC wakes up Daddy is home to play with and get some guy time.

Finally as day turns to night we start our bath about 8 or 9 pm. We get him lathered up with smelly good baby lotion, Mom cleans his ears, brushes his hair, gets him dressed and Dad reads him a book. Just about the time he can barely keep his eyes open, Dad feeds him and off to bed he goes. The day starts all over again.

RC is such a sweet boy. He rarely cries anymore and I attribute that to us understanding him and his needs. It just gets sweeter everyday :O)
